I remember when Olive told me they were non-binary. Did you understand what she meant? What they meant? No, it's fine. I just didn't take it seriously. It was an epic fail on the parent level. For some reason, my head was shut down. And now I understand it and I've taken the time to listen. I've listened to my children. But I also want to say this, that it's not every non-binary person's job to educate every person that doesn't get it. That's why in a way it's ask us because it's not, we're not so emotionally connected as our children would be. We won't always get
