The Importance of Authenticity in the Gospel of Thomas

Half of the sayings of Thomas are already found in Mark, Matthew, and Luke. So there is no disagreement, at least on half of those saying of Thomas. If so, then it means that those other sayings of Jesus found in the Gospel of Thomas are also authentic. We might also ask ourselves, what if those other Gospel writers copied the sayings from Thomas without fully understanding the context or the meaning of what Jesus was trying to communicate? That's possible at least to me.
