How to Get Rid of Cached Images in Mastodon

You do absolutely have to keep on top of it. There's tick boxes inside Mastodon that each user can tick to say, get rid of my media after a certain number of days. But there's also regular housekeeping jobs that you can run that get rid of cached images. So if you're sort of purging assets that are no longer timely, do those ever get re-pulled in if somebody goes back and scrolls back through the timeline or are they gone forever? I'm not entirely sure. It is certainly a very valid question.
