Hannibal's immediate reaction is not actually to march on Rome so there are several practical things but not marching on Rome firstly the army itself has taken five and a half thousand casualties at least maybe as many as eight thousand casualties. The allies think the writing is on the wall they start leaving the Roman alliance system anytime a hannibal's army approaches them, they're willing to kind of join him. Hannibal enjoys that in terms of starting to receive allies who defect now.
