The Second Sex

Frida Ghitis: Simone de Beauvoir was the exact same kind of Gnostic. She wrote this very famous book in 1949 called The Second Sex, which lays out the thesis that one is not born but becomes a woman. But what she says is you, that gives you kind of two choices if you happen to have been born into a body that's female,. See, so what you can do is you can either do that on society's terms, which happen to be patriarchal terms. This lands at the feet of feminism and is gender criticality pretty much entirely.
