Barr: I think there's a tension between the first paragraph and the second that we can talk about. He says Jefferson begins by saying, we hold these truths to be self evident. So what if you deny that all men are created equal well that's a great question he asks. Barr: One of the biggest confusions for people is that they think that self evidence simply means obvious.
