Salinger's Conversations
Salinger shook all hands with apparent ease. I had the feeling, however, that he was glad to see some relatively young guests. Dinner was eaten from my parents' best plates balanced on the guests' knees. Salinger told us that he knew Cornish. Our small group became increasingly hilarious and was eventually broken up by Jimmy Hamilton who wanted Salinger to meet someone he thought important.
