The Importance of a Wounded Nature Involved to Evil
We are made good, but broken. We are inclined to evil. And so we have to kind of be on guard against even our own hearts. That's one of the things that is at risk if we forget the reality of original sin. For example, the consequences of original sin and of all of our personal sins put the world as a whole in the sinful condition that St. John describes as the sin of the world. Even after we sinned, God did not abandon us; he came to aid of all of us.
