The Heart of Contrition
The 21st century has tried to do away with personal guilt. We've kind of gone in the direction of corporate guilt and we're all prostrating ourselves before whatever oppressed persons whom we have done wrong historically. So I'd say if you experience embarrassment, that's okay. You don't want to wallow in it. But you do want to be able to say before the Lord, yes, I failed. I am sorry. And so that requires a certain spiritual maturity which the Lord gives us by His grace.
