The only silver lining we have in the cases is that obergofel and loving also have equal protection components, which is a different part of the fourteenth amendment. Over all, though, i think the picture is very bleak, and it's hard not to imagine that everything's on the chopping block. It almost feels to me like this area of law, like substantive du process, is functionally dead in the near term. The real ion is, where does the conservative legal movement focus next? What's their next sort of angle? Are they going to stick with elections rightin and focus on 20 24 or are they going to go in other directions?
