The tor e di id tik is a new series on the history of colonialism. This week, we look at how different nations colonized their own countries. The dutch and english both perpetuated this notion that the spanish and the portuguese are repressive regimes who just rule by terror. But really, there was, there were different approaches to colonization among these different nations. And i'm hoping to talk soon to melissa morris about the early colonies in south America and the amazon area.
