Tobani was born and raised in the mosel mountains of northern Germany. He moved to New York as a teenager, but didn't know what he wanted to do with his life. Eventually found himself working on a farm when someone asked him if he'd like to make cheese. After looking at an ad for a plant that could be turned into a factory, tobani bought it. The company has since gone from strength-to-strength - now worth over £1bn.
