The New Principle of Love and Deliverance From a Former Mantra
Verses three to seven provide the basis for the statement of verses one to two. It rules out salvation by works of righteousness, before describing the means by which god saved us and then the end for which he did so. The sort of society that arises when people practise that former way of life is one of deep antagonisms and tensions between people. People are always trying to get advantage over others,. resenting others, being bitter towards them, or malicious and vindictive in their intentions. Mutual hatred is the operating principle for life in this manner of society.
