The Five Areas Model of Thinking and Behavior

It sounds like the rule of thumb in a lot of these treatments is that behavior can generate thoughts. So you'd normally think it might be easier to first decide that going for a walk might be nice and then go for a walk, but actually there's beliefs underneath that that are generating the thoughts. In CBT, there's a model called a five areas model, which actually has cognitions or thinking and behaviors as two cogs,. if you like, but it also has emotions and the body or physiology and the situation.
