What's the Story Behind Open Source for Slack?

Tin: In grad school, i started this veto game company. We were using another messaging product, and we wre were all remote. And when we tried to leave, they wouldn't let us export our data. So what happens when engineer's unhappy in awe, go build things. Tin: As we open sourced it, it really just started picking up steam. The market kind of spoke, and the markets like, here's the featureless we want you to build these things. It really just spoke like, hay, there's a business here.
