The Value of Morality

Haida Gere says he struggled with his great teacher, Schopenhauer. The issue was the value of the unegoistic instincts of compassion and self-denial. This problem of pity really gets to what he understands as being the root of nihilism. Haida: We're all going to be ushering forth from this thing that we recognize as pity.
