The protesters were angry that President Yannukovic had decided to back out of signing an association agreement with the EU in favor of closer relations with Putin's Russia. Within a few weeks the protesters turned from protests into people building an ice fortress in the center of Ukraine's capital. And it's such a nuts protest that people hate Yunukovich so much there are Nazis fighting alongside Jewish people and communists against the government.
