The Discourse of Ancestors
The idea of a return is something I think that is one of the heartbreaking parts of diaspora. The discourse of ancestors is really interesting it's become very prevalent right now and I'm very wary of any kind of language that deifies in an abstract way anything right. In this poem I'm also just sort of like laughing at the idea of being like you know like there's a poem where I like wake up naked and bushwick and I'm like oh my god like you know my ancestors aren't taking my fucking phone call David.
