The Importance of Encyclopaedias

The illustrations for me are really, really important I think certainly growing up with encyclopedias. And yeah, it did say, you know, the only library that you will ever need turned out not to be the case,. No, but what was his ambition? Was his ambition to create an almanac of the sum of all human knowledge at the time? Or was it very much just a bit of a pick and make? It was a bit of both. Both the encyclopedi and the botanica began as part works.
