We Need to Attack Someone Other Than Afghanistan

Rumsfeld said in the week after 9-11, "We have to attack someone else to show that we're big and strong" If he had actually said that on September 12th, my guess is the American public would have gone along with him. I can just imagine if they had articulated that as the public messaging behind the reason for the war instead of the false pretenses that they put forward. It was really, they were just throwing everything at the wall and saying whatever could stick.
