Yoshi yuki, mikio's father, worked tirelessly to find answers. In late december the reward for information was increased to 20 million yen. Two and a half years later he passed away in hospital after months spent battling pneumonia. Former police chief takashi sushida said he was remorseful that the case remained unresolved.
