Penal Substitution: A Metaphor of Reality
I'm extremely attracted to the idea that actually all languages are metaphor. I was first led into this by Andrew who educated me about it, and next year we'll do more looking at it. The third chapter of habakurk is like that - its imagery is transcendent. It reminds me of some of the later paintings of someone like Turner when you look at it. You're not sure whether it's heaven or earthy's painting. And that led us to last week talking about the issue of penal substitution.
