The Evolution of Roman Culture

It's quite a big debate within ancient history about how cultural interaction and cultural change works in antiquity. There are two broad schools of thought I suppose so there's really an excellent book written by Tony Spa fourth called Greece and the Augusta and Cultural Revolution which came out about a decade ago. The elite emulation point of view we used to call it romanization was about other areas becoming more like Rome with the implicit kind of understanding that Rome is somehow remaining unchanged in that process.
