A crime wave in Alice Springs grew into a national crisis this week. The situation had the Prime Minister making a last-ditch visit there to try and solve the crisis. How could the situation have deteriorated without coming to the attention of our leaders? Today, columnist for the Saturday paper Chris Wallace, on how giving communities a voice could stop politicians from avoiding complex challenges. This is 7am.
