The Impotence and Attenuation of Cables
With a coaxual r f cable, you're talking about essentially three main layers and then a coating. The physical dimensions and the material you use to make those different layers is what determines the impotence and the attenuation of the cable at different frequencies. Impotence is the effective resistance of an electric circuit or component to alternating current. Attenuation refers to loss, in this case, a signal loss, frequency loss.
