The Casino Mentality

We're now going through a pretty serious dislocation every decade or so. I think it's one of the best things about this generation of young people that are impatient. But impatience also implies the sometimes boring, sometimes tedious work that you need to do in order to create really long and enduring success. Every generation has been convinced that they can out smart the generation that came before. And i think what has happened to day, which is very different in quantity, if not in kind, is that consumption has become more conspicuous than ever. It feels like it's gone a little bit overboard.
