Mary Whitehouse was a pioneer of getting things suppressed that she thought was too rude. She gave up work to have children in the early 1940s, and returned 20 years later teaching art and sex education. Mary threw herself into an evangelical Christian group called, firstly, the Oxford group, and later, moral rearmament. And that's where she met her husband, Bob Busted, Ernest Whitehouse.
