Kobe worked at his family's roller skating rink in Chicago as a teenager. He says the community showed him love by throwing parties, political rallies and parades. When he moved away to go to college, Kobe realized it wasn't just about work but communities too. "I'm a bad ass motherfucker on them skates," he says.
