Using Lookalike Audiences on Facebook

A lookalike audience is a group of people it's an audience that meta creates for you that is based off of a custom audience yeah. The actual people that are seeing around have not interacted with your business before they're just similar to the people that have interacted with yourbusiness before so they are cold audiences but a lot of people get stuck on that because I think it's partly because of the layout within Facebook.

and you I one of the things I learned recently was that you know don't view lookalike audiences as like warm to warm to hot like you tend to be the much more as like just talk a few thinking on that because I did have a bit of a comedy moment where you show somebody looking shocked and

thinking behind that yeah so a lookalike audience is a group of people it's an audience that meta creates for you that is based off of a custom audience yeah and that's how people go wrong so basically what you're doing so let's say you wanted to target people that are very similar to your previous customers you would take your customer list let's say you've got them in an email list or a CRM or something you upload that into meta and you say I want you to analyze these people within this custom audience and I want you to create people that are very similar so let's say they analyze the data and they work out that your typical customer is female age 42 interested in ABC they're going to then create an audience of people that are very similar on on those points that are similar age potentially female also interested in ABC the actual people that are seeing around have not interacted with your business before they're just similar to the people that have interacted with your business before so they are cold audiences but a lot of people get stuck on that because I think it's partly because of the layout within Facebook it's within the audiences section where you're used to creating custom audiences as in warm audiences but the lookalikes derived from them those are those are cold audiences and should be compared when it comes to results against things like interests or open targeting that are other cold audience options
