It's well known that the Wars of the Roses is an inspiration for the early part of Game of Thrones. The House of the Dragon is loosely based on the anarchy, which is also a time period in England. "I think it was important to take a note of how the farther back in history we're going to go today," says author David Ben-Gurion.
