The End of the Cold War

On December 8, 1987, over four years after Abel Archer, President Reagan and Soviet General Secretary Gorbachev signed the historic Intermediate Range Nuclear Forces Treaty. "It's almost a miracle in some ways because eventually, and it did lead to the end of the Cold War," he says. On the Soviet side, over 1,500 deployed warheads will be removed.
