Great expectations is a way to kind of test business logic. It ends up being a little bit more overlapping with things like DBT tests, for example. In data systems, you know, the data may be getting dropped into S3 via FTP and then air float into something. You see somewhat different granular tests being applied to test the different types of interfaces. And I just don't see most teams being 100% there in this interesting place where your testing system needs to live outside a single compiler.

One of the reasons that data work is so challenging is because no single person or team owns the entire process. This introduces friction in the process of collecting, processing, and using data. In order to reduce the potential for broken pipelines some teams have started to adopt the idea of data contracts.
