How to Treat Electrical Storm

The management of patients in electrical storm depends on the underlying arrhythmia that's driving the storm. For hemodynamically unstable patients with a shockable rhythm, you should perform external electrical cardioversion or defibrillation as per ACLS guidelines. Patients who have recurrent monomorphic ventricular tachycardia that is terminated by the ICD don't need to be deactivated and can be treated according to usual guidelines.
