Teaching Osteopathy - Role-Playing in Clinical Practice
As much as possible, like any good clinical education is to situate the theory in practical examples. Role-playing can be a really helpful way where you've got students that partner up and one plays a patient, one plays a clinician,. We go through a clinical case history taking, a clinical interaction with a watching audience if you like. There's moments to reflectively pause and ask some questions about what were you doing and what were you thinking then? So we can begin to act on them and recognise how they may be influencing the situation.
