What Is Emotional Labour?

Emotional labor is where your employer uses that to their profit, essentially. They're using your ability to do that as part of the servicethat they're selling. That allows them to then capitalize, maximise their return on their investment in your labour. It's not just about using your emotion skill management in your job, because we all do that to some we all mask our real emotions. We can be at dinner with our parents when they say something irritating to us, and we can suppress that emotion and carry on smiling and being pleasant because we want it to be a pleasant evening. That's doing emotion work.
