Alvaro Obragon: The Victorious General of the Revolution

Alvaro Obragon was promoted to Minister of War in Caronza's pre-constitutional government. He decided that after the Constitution of 1917 was promulgated, elections were held and a new national government was sworn in that he would resign. And so on May 1, 1917, the day Caronza was sworn in to the presidency, Obragon resigned. But look, this is very clearly a performative retirement.
