The Importance of Skeletal Health in Distance Running

The best time to build bone is before puberty, Stu says. Distance runners need to take time off from running and do other sports in order to develop a more robust skeleton as they get older. Running itself is not a great bone building activity, so we often encourage runners to sometimes incorporate some other sort of activity into their daily life.
