Is Hiring Employment a Price Worth Paying to Get Inflation Down?
I don't want to see high unemployment because I think too many people in this country need to go to work. We're seeing opportunities where workers across the board average of higher wages right now for 4.7%. There's an opportunity for us to bring inflation down in as well as having employment going on in the country. Chairman Powell talked about that in Jackson-Hole Wyoming. He said, while higher interest rates and slower growth will bring down inflation, they will also bring some pain to households and businesses.
