The Importance of Identity Politics in Journalism

Journalism in the US, and as you say also in the UK, has become increasingly to preserve of well-educated, often well-off people. You talk about how one of the things about identity politics or wokeness is that it allows these incredibly privileged journalists to feel good about themselves. And they benefit enormously from some of the policies that they're pushing. They are clearly part of a new form of establishment thinking. Yet they really do genuinely feel that they're speaking truth to power,. That they are the great radical journalists of our times.
