The Hoax of Elsie and Francis
In 1982, the British Journal of Photography published a 10-part series outlining how Elsie and Francis could have taken the photographs. By this point, Francis was in her 70s, and Elsie was in her 80s. She decided she wanted to tell the truth as it were, but wanted to do it on her own terms. There's some sort of difference of opinion about exactly what was said to whom.
