The Use of a Dialect in a Movie or TV Show

Almost any fantasy movie or tv show where people are speaking english but not really english it's almost always british dialects that they're speaking. It's the use of a dialect for adding some patina of culture yes and that takes us straight into sort of con worlding socio-linguistics right whose whose dialect has prestigewhose doesn't? on that yeah that kind of thing can occur in all sorts of different ways um so in our own in english you see a little bit of uh kundsbrocken kind of stuff in that apparently  and i'm pretty sure we don't have to go too far back with this one.
