The Hellenistic Greeks' Take on the Anku Thing

According to one modern pagan posting on Reddit, he's apparently an expert in modern Hellenism. He says Hermes is the Greek god who is the messenger of the gods. One of his under-looked divine roles is to deliver dreams down onto us in the physical plane and to guide deceased spirits to the underworld as a shepherd of souls.
