The 21st century human is a thing that's worth preserving but preserving indefinitely into the future. I don't think it's even remotely plausible that a post-human being, whether maybe we have integrated in some sense with artificial superintelligence, would be beyond us. The idea of whole brain emulation for anyone who's familiar with that, the idea of using an electron microscope to precisely scan every aspect of a human brain and replicate it has never been done before.
