Labour Party Conference - What Was It Like?
Labour Conference was a very different beast in Liverpool. It really felt as if the party was ready for power of much more organised event, much more disciplined defence. I think to me, that conference was the moment that people in the Labour party started to believe they could actually win the next election. When you talk to Labour people since then, they're all suddenly consumed by a fear they could blow it again - there's a long time to go. The fear is really palpable among Labour people.
