In the US, especially small towns, you are available for conversation and people can address you even though you are a complete stranger. But Danes hadn't learned this. So when we walk in the street or go to the supermarket, we are totally and completely alone,. Even though surrounded by hundreds of other people because they are not socially available to us. That's a very strange thing. And that's why we have a huge youth drinking problem in Denmark. The cultural norms are such that it's a very difficult to talk to strangers and to bond and to find a partner as you want to do between 20 and 30.
