Pearl: The main complications that you're going to find are going to be infertility which is usually what we consider tubal factor infertility so there's scarring or adhesions in the tubes ectopic pregnancy and chronic pelvic pain. If I have a patient who has been treated for PID they are insistent that they finished their first line antibiotics they have not had opportunity to get re-exposed then seven days of moxifloxazin is not unreasonable, she says. Pearl: These aren't rare sequelae they are common sequelae they cause a high degree of morbidity and importantly you know quality of life for our patients.
