The Golden Age of Bull Fighting
Two men, two matadors, brought about what is considered to be the golden age of bull fighting in the early twentieth century. Their success and innovations also had unintended consequences, inaugurating an unprecedented era of fraud, bribery and malpractice that afflicts bull fighting to this very day. These two men, these bull fighters, both died tragic deaths, but under very different circumstances. And by understanding how they saw their profession and how the world saw them, i think we can start to begin to approach a deeper appreciation of what makes this tradition of bull fighting so addictive,. emotionally affecting and beautiful to millions of people around the world.
