American interpretation of the OPEC-plus cuts is firstly, it's a deliberate humiliation of Biden who'd gone to try to patch things up with the MBS. And then some people suspect that this is almost an interference in American politics to try to damage Biden ahead of the midterms. I think the Saudis were primarily motivated by their economic financial interests. Both sides are going to have to come back because they need each other for security reasons.
