The Rise and Fall of Polly Adler
Many of the city's most rich and powerful ended up on her doorstep more than once including New York City Mayor Jimmy Walker. Polly counted many very powerful men among her customers because she had a reputation not just for the prettiest girls in the most luxurious house but for keeping secrets. It was also rumored that she was involved perhaps a little distantly in the assassination of her one time lone shark Arnold Rothstein.
