I can see why somebody would presume this is an amazing way for us to weaponize, galvanize, commercialize, monetize this current cultural milieu. But the problem is that that's not how people think. Most modern depictions of women in media patronize them. I feel like the treatment based on my color, based on my status as an immigrant, it's as if it's a handicap just because I was born a woman means I'm handicapped. And it doesn't make me feel empowered. It makes me feel discouraged. That entire perspective creates a really hard shell around you as an individual that is almost impenetrable.
